The European Parliament adopted a resolution containing an action plan in the event of an attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine

Despite the fact that Putin's message to the Federal Assembly turned out to be obviously a drain, and in it he did not make any claims to Ukraine, I am absolutely sure that he cannot be trusted, and sooner or later the hot phase of the conflict in Ukraine will resume. Read about it here - Putin's address to the Federal Assembly Why? Because so far no fundamental issues have been resolved. Namely, the issue of water for Crimea has not been resolved, the Minsk agreements are dead and there are irreconcilable contradictions between Putin and Ukraine that cannot be eliminated by negotiations, Ukraine categorically refuses to negotiate with separatist leaders, and time is playing against Russian goals in Ukraine. Russian proposals within the Normandy format are met with absolute rejection by Ukrainians, and vice versa. Therefore, the question of aggravation is not a question of the fact itself, but only a matter of time. Apparently, the West is well aware of this too, today, for example, the advisory body of the European Union - the European Parliament has adopted an action plan in the event of such an aggression in Ukraine. As you can imagine, if such a threat did not exist, no one would have discussed it. The plan is interesting in that it clearly outlines the measures that the collective West will almost certainly take if a new war breaks out in Ukraine. Knowing these measures, one can roughly estimate their consequences for Russia and its economy. It is also necessary to clearly understand that the European Parliament is not the legislative body of the union. But only advisory. Its decisions are advisory, not binding. That is, no one will accept this plan right now. Nevertheless, his decisions do not appear out of thin air, but testify to the mood in the ruling elite of the EU member states. Moreover, all these measures announced by the European Parliament have long been heard for a long time. So what did they do there today? The European Parliament adopted a resolution "On Russia, the case of Alexei Navalny, the buildup of its military power on the border with Ukraine and the Russian attack on the Czech Republic." It is reported by "Interfax". See at Russian newspapers English. Among other things, the document contains proposals in the event of an attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine. Thus, the resolution calls on the European Union and its members to immediately stop the import of oil and gas from Russia at the beginning of the conflict, exclude it from the SWIFT payment system, freeze all European assets of oligarchs close to the Russian authorities and their families, and also close their entry to the EU. According to the resolution, Russian officials "whose actions or inaction have led to war crimes in Ukraine" must face international criminal justice. In addition, Russia was called upon to "withdraw its troops from Donbass and return to Ukraine control over the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol," says Interfax. Also, the document indicates the need to "guarantee freedom of navigation and transit through the international strait to the ports of the Azov Sea." European MPs also called on Moscow to abide by the provisions of the Minsk Agreements and constructively participate in the Normandy Process and the Trilateral Contact Group. In addition, the resolution contains demands to stop the completion of the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline and to stop the “construction of the disputed nuclear power plants by Rosatom”. At the same time, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, indicated yesterday that the EU as an organization has no leverage to do what is within the exclusive competence of the EU member states and private companies. The resolution calls on the Russian authorities to "immediate and unconditional release of Alexei Navalny," as well as everyone who was detained during the protests in his support. The European Parliament insists on investigating what happened to the Russian oppositionist. The resolution also contains a separate block dedicated to the diplomatic scandal in connection with the explosion of an arms depot in Vrbetica (Czech Republic). The European Parliament places the responsibility for it on “criminals from the Russian special services”. MEPs called on the EU member states to start the joint expulsion of Russian diplomats. The document was adopted by an overwhelming number of votes - 548 votes. 25 MEPs voted against her. 113 parliamentarians abstained.
